Ultimately how often you have driving lessons is up to you however each instructor you contact will usually have their own preferences on frequency and length.. My recommenation would be a minimum of 1.5 hours per week
How many lessons will I need to take?
Driving Standards Agency research states that the current average is 45 hours of driving tuition, this is coupled with 22 hours of private practice.

It is worth noting that each individual will learn at a different pace and your instructor will be able to give you an idea of how many lessons will be needed as your training progresses.
Is there a way to make my lessons cheaper?
You can cut the cost of learning to drive by taking advantage of block booking discounts. Savings can be made on courses of 10 hours.
Do I need to pass my theory test before starting lessons?
No, it helps to learn the driving test theory whilst you are working through the practical as it can bring the subject to life making it easier to understand and process..
Can a family member/friend teach me to drive?
The Driver and Vehicles Standards Agency strongly recommends that you take lessons from an Approved Driving Instructor. If your friend or relative teaches you they must be over 21 years of age and have held a Full British Driving Licence for at least 3 years.
